January 2023 - ongoing | Convenor, Documentary Theory and Practise, BA Film Studies, QMIUL. Creating and delivering a module cobining theoretical context of documentary filmmaking and practical production tutoring.

January 2021 - April 2021 | Support Lecturer, Production Skills module of BA Film Studies, QMUL I supported Lecturer Eugene Doyen in delivering the Production Skills module, working with small groups as a mentor as students produced their first film projects.

September 2020 - November 2020 | Course Leader | King’s College London LISS-DTP - How to increase your research impact: making short films and documentaries as a tool in translation. I created and taught a course for PhD students looking to communicate their research through DIY filmmaking. My original materials and teaching were evaluated 5/5 by 100% of respondents, and reviewed as ‘hugely engaging’.

January 2019 - ongoing | Film Practice Research Fellow, Center for Film and Ethics, Queen Mary University London.
I joined the scheme with a research and documentary project that I produced in Addis Ababa (WAX + GOLD). I have since completed two more documentary projects with the support of the Fellowship and QMUL resources; UNITED VOICES, which premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest and was published by Guardian Documentaries, and OFFSHORE, which was commissioned by Platform London and was a recipient of the Climate Story Fund, to be released in Spring 2023.

May 2018 - October 2018 | Mothers of Invention | Impact Producer | Doc Society.
I worked closely with the CEO Jess Search and host Mary Robinson to develop, create and launch a new strategic podcast series looking at women’s solutions to climate change all over the world, and wrote and directed a bonus episode during Climate Week in New York.

August 2016 - May 2018 | Doc Academy | Doc Society (formerly BRITDOC Foundation) I joined Doc Society on a 6-month contract to project-manage their schools programme Doc Academy, specifically to launch the film He Named Me Malala in secondary schools across the UK. I took on a different role for this project because I wanted to learn more about the education sector in the UK.

August - December 2015 | Integrity Action | Associate producer.  I travelled to Palestine and to Kenya to document educational, activist and anti-corruption projects funded by Integrity Action. I shot all the stills for the project at 15 different community projects, we produced three films, and I wrote six case studies that investigated the impact of the projects.

September 2014 – March 2015 | Girl Effect Ethiopia (Nike Foundation / DfID) | Producer, Exec Producer -  I was contracted by Girl Effect to go and work on Yegna, a behaviour change project for teenage girls in Amhara, Ethiopia. I spent the first three months travelling around the region to produce two short documentaries. From January to March 2015 I was based in Addis Ababa and was the Executive producer for Yegna the Movie, a drama that aired on national Ethiopian TV – the first time Yegna had lived on film.

August 2014 | The Boombox Project (feature length music doc) | Stink | Co-Producer - I collaborated with Stink for the first phase of pre-prod and production for The Boombox Project, Rohan Blair Mangat’s first feature-length documentary, shot on location in NYC. The project traces the social conditions that led to the birth of hip hop.

May 2013 – June 2014 | Girl Hub Rwanda | Producer - I spent a year in Rwanda producing a number of films for both local and global audiences to document the impact of the Ni Nyampinga project. I made films with and for teenage girls across the country, working with different local and international crews throughout the year.

December 2012 | Lilting (feature-length, Film London/Stink) | Production Manager - Lilting was shot on location in London in December 2012, on a microfinance budget. Written and directed by Hong Khaou and produced by Dominic Buchanan. Lilting was the opening film at Sundance in January 2014 and won Best Cinematography at the festival.

March 2010 – April 2013 | Just So Films | Producer - I represented directors Jono Stevens and Jonny Madderson and produced all company projects across their existing accounts. I produced films in India, Japan, China, Pakistan and across Europe and the US. During my time at Just So I also launched and developed Just So Collective, a growing network of filmmakers and creatives.

August 2008 – March 2010 | Rightster | t5m Studios – Editorial Director – Producer - I led the editorial team for an online video startup, recruiting journalists for and launching a contributors’ network. I moved into production, starting with coverage of London Fashion Week in September 2008, and going on to produce and direct all show coverage and interview packages for the following six seasons.
